Brenner Children’s Hospital

Brenner Children’s Hospital is one of the prime pediatric hospitals in Winston Salem. It is an integral part of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.

This 160-bed facility treats patients from birth to age 18 and offers the latest treatment advances in pediatric medicine. It is supported by a pediatric-trained team which covers more than 75 specialists, with expertise spanning more than 25 subspecialties. Key specialists include anesthesiology, behavioral pediatrics, endocrinology, genetics, gastroenterology, hematology and oncology, infectious diseases, neonatology, neurology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic surgery, plastic surgery, pulmonology, radiology, renal transplantation, trauma/emergency medicine, and urology.

The Pediatric Heart Center, at the hospital, treats children with heart defects or conditions that may cause heart failure. In addition, the cardiac researchers, at the center, are the part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Pediatric Heart Network.

Brenner Children’s Hospital also has 14 outreach clinics throughout the region.
