St. Alexius Medical Center

Established in 1885, St. Alexius Medical Center is the oldest healthcare provider in the state of North Dakota. The center, based at Bismarck, offers a full-service 304-bed acute care hospital and several clinics. It is the largest medical center in western North Dakota.

The center, with its modern technology, provides a broad spectrum of services, including medical, surgical, obstetrical, pediatrics, cardiac care, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, electrocardiography, electroencephalogram, physical therapy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CAT scan, mammography, and home care and hospice. It is home to several centers of excellence such as orthopedics, women's services, cardiology, cancer center, behavioral care, stroke center, emergency and trauma, neuroscience and integrated medicine.

St. Alexius Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations; the Trauma Section of the American College of Surgeons; the American College of Radiology; the Commissioner on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists and the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics.

St. Alexius Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
