Hillsboro Medical Center
Hillsboro Medical Center is a prominent, 74-bed medical facility located in Hillsboro, ND. The center, a part of the Traill-Steele County Service Providers' Network, traces its origin back to 1892 when the United Norwegian Church, under the head of Rev. Lonne, turned a school house into a 36 patient hospital for Dr. J. L. O. Moeller from Norway. The present facility on the 12 Third Street SE, which was opened in November, 1953, is the outcome of several additions and expansions. With the increase in patient number, the hospital also added an auxiliary in the winter of 1957-58 to assist the main functions of the hospital.
The center provides a wide range of acute hospital services, skilled nursing services, emergency services and ambulance. Its major services are laboratory and radiology services; physical, occupation, speech therapy services; dietary services; environmental services; and other activities. The skilled nursing facility at the center provides nursing services, meals, housekeeping, laundry, and activities for residents.
