Richard H. Young Hospital is a free-standing psychiatric facility at Kearney, in Buffalo County, and is an integral part of Good Samaritan Health Systems.
This psychiatric facility provides a broad array of intensive psychiatric services for children, adolescents and adults. Programs are specifically designed based on each patient’s unique biological, psychological, spiritual and social needs. The program consists of psychiatric assessment and treatment including psychotropic medication management provided by psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
Richard H. Young Hospital’s treatment modalities include family and individual psychotherapy, patient and family education, therapeutic recreation, nursing services, pastoral care, aftercare planning and psychopharmacology. Behavioral health counseling is also provided by Licensed Mental Health Practitioners (LMHP) and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
The hospital’s residential treatment center strives to help emotionally disturbed and behaviorally disordered in people of all age groups.
