Hackensack University Medical Center

Started in 1888, Hackensack University Medical Center is a 683-bed teaching and research hospital. It is affiliated with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey–New Jersey Medical School and is the largest provider of inpatient and outpatient services in the state of New Jersey. This not-for-profit facility serves as the hub of healthcare for northern New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area.

The hospital houses one of the largest ambulatory facilities in the country. The cancer center at Hackensack University Medical Center is New Jersey’s largest and most comprehensive. The facility has a colon cancer prevention center, comprehensive wound healing center, fitness club, women's health center, spine center, reflux and swallowing center. The hospital is accredited by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).

Hackensack University Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
