Newark Beth Israel Medical Center

Founded in 1901, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center is the only hospital in New Jersey where heart and lung transplants are performed. It is an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, the largest integrated health care delivery system in the state. The hospital provides quality medical and health care services and it is a major referral and treatment center for patients throughout the northern New Jersey metropolitan area.

The hospital houses the state's first accredited sleep disorders center, neonatal intensive care unit with the only extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in New Jersey, the largest hospital-based dental program in New Jersey and the heart hospital of New Jersey.

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center offers the best in cardiology services and cardiac surgery programs. The hospital also has nationally recognized pacemaker and defibrillator center; the Flo Okin Oncology and Blood Disorders Center, the center for geriatric health care, a regional perinatal center and a children’s hospital.

Newark Beth Israel Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
