Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque is the largest acute care hospital in New Mexico, and serves as a major tertiary medical center for the state. The hospital is also credited with performing the most pediatric heart surgeries in the state.
The hospital, provided with 336 staffed beds and 453 licensed beds, offers routine care, specialty services and urgent care in its various clinical specialty departments. Major departments functioning at the hospital includes Presbyterian Heart Center; Women's Healthcare Center; Presbyterian Eye Center; and Presbyterian Joint Replacement Center. The hospital offers a wide range of surgical programs in general surgery, cardio-thoracic surgery, gynecology, dental/oral surgery, neurosurgery, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, pediatric surgery, urology and gastroenterology.
Its major department, Presbyterian Heart Center comprises 18 cardiologists and cardiothoracic-vascular surgeons. This center offers a senior heart center dedicated to the aging heart; and four full-service, state-of-the-art cath labs. The state’s largest and most advanced cardiac rehabilitation program is being offered at the Presbyterian Healthplex. A comprehensive oncology program is also offered for patients admitting in the hospital. Its Oncology Program has a three year accreditation by the American College of Surgeon Commission on Cancer and provides a full range of specialty services. The physicians at Presbyterian Cancer Treatment Center are fully credentialed to use New Mexico's only Gamma Knife treatment facility.
