New YorkSamaritan Medical CenterSamaritan Medical Center, formerly known as House of the Good Samaritan, is one of the few rural medical facilities in New York State with a comprehensive, full-service neurosurgery program. It was started in 1881 with an aim at meeting the diverse healthcare needs of all northern New York residents. It provides a wide range of medical, surgical and emergency care services, including critical care, pain management, orthopaedic surgery, allergy/immunology, gastroenterology, rehabilitation, sleep disorder care, trauma care and ophthalmology services. Specialty services available include physical medicine and rehabilitation, high risk maternity and level II neonatal intensive care, neurosurgery, cardiac rehabilitation, trauma care, diagnostic cardiac catheterization and ambulatory surgery. The hospital also provides inpatient mental health services.
The Walker Cancer Treatment Center provides treatment and therapies for cancer patients and their families. The treatment is provided by private medical oncologists, radiation therapists, ontological technicians and other healthcare professionals.
