Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center
Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center (KJMC), founded in 1925 as a chronic care facility, serves the Brooklyn area. It is a multi specialty training institution comprising 326-bed acute care hospital and Rutland Nursing Home, a 538-bed adult and pediatric skilled nursing long term care facility.
David Minkin Rehabilitation Institute, traumatic brain injury and coma recovery unit, geriatric inpatient psychiatry unit, wound healing and hyperbaric center, non-invasive vascular laboratory, diabetes self-management center and sleep center are the additional facilities at KJMC. In addition to anesthesiology, family practice, medicine, heart care, hematology, infectious diseases, rehabilitation medicine, surgery, gynecology and orthopedics services, the center holds a military health service program and a culturally sensitive advocacy and clinic. Teaching rounds and one-hour seminars are organized Mondays through Fridays covering a wide range of medicine and its subspecialties.
KJMC is accredited by the New York State Department of Health and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO). It is a member of the Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA) and the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS).
Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
