Long Beach Medical Center

Long Beach Medical Center (LBMC) has been serving as a critical resource for the residents of Long Beach, Lido Beach, Atlantic Beach, Point Lookout and Island Park since 1922. It is a center for advanced medical procedures with skillful physicians in a wide range of specialties and subspecialties.

The medical center comprises a 203-bed community teaching hospital, a 200-bed sub acute nursing facility (Komanoff Center for Geriatric and Rehabilitative Medicine), medicare-certified home health agency, and numerous outpatient services.

LBMC is a renowned site for lethal brain tumor treatment. It also provides a variety of specialties, including gynecology, home care, internal medicine, nutritional counseling, urology, vascular surgery, dialysis coronary care, alcohol outpatient counseling, allergy and immunology, ambulatory surgery and family practice. In addition to that, unique services include enhanced external counter pulsation (EECP) and wound care.

The family care center, a primary and specialty medical care facility for people with limited financial resources, offers services in pediatrics, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology and general surgery. LBMC’s extensive physical rehabilitation program has a 15-bed inpatient unit and numerous outpatient services. The behavioral health services include a 25-bed inpatient psychiatric unit, inpatient medical detoxification, and outpatient services for the treatment of alcoholism, substance abuse and mental health problems.

A full range of ongoing support groups, education programs and health screenings are offered throughout the year.

Long Beach Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
