St Charles Hospital

St Charles Hospital is a community healthcare center located in Port Jefferson, New York. It was started in 1907 with an aim at serving the physical, mental and spiritual needs of children with severe infirmities. St Charles is the first in north-east to perform computer-assisted orthopilot total hip replacement surgery.

The hospital is a certified medical facility that consists of 98 medical/surgical beds, 16 ICU/CCU beds, 8 pediatric beds, 22 maternity beds, 6 neonatal continuing care bassinets, 111 physical medicine and rehabilitation beds, and 28 alcohol rehabilitation beds. The infirmary is also renowned for its centers of excellence, including rehabilitation, orthopaedics and obstetrics. Services provided include inpatient rehabilitation, alcohol rehabilitation, arthritis care, cardiac/pulmonary rehabilitation, children's specialty clinics, community re-entry program, endocrine services, metabolic and nutrition disorders, endocrinology and diabetes care.

The hospital operates Long Island's only dedicated pediatric traumatic brain injury unit, and offers a golf and fitness program with state-of-the-art golf simulator. Satellite locations are located in Centereach, Riverhead, Melville, Hauppauge, Albertson, Smithtown, Ronkonkoma, Patchogue, East Setauket and Port Jefferson.

St Charles Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
