Roswell Park Cancer Institute

Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) is a century old organization devoted exclusively on study and treatment of cancer. It is the only upstate New York facility to hold the National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation of “comprehensive cancer center” and one of 39 such centers in the nation.

The US News and World Report listed RPCI as one of the top 50 cancer hospitals in the nation. It is accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. It is also a member of several prestigious organizations in the nation. RPCI is the first to develop the chemotherapy program and photodynamic therapy (PDT), and is the first to carry out the studies on the relationship between smoking and lung cancer.

Affiliated with the University at Buffalo and other local and regional colleges and universities, RPCI provides comprehensive education and research in several fields. Clinical, protectoral, postdoctoral and advanced training, and continuing medical education for physicians and dentists are offered. Community outreach and screening programs are also arranged.

Roswell Park Cancer Institute accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
