St John's Episcopal Hospital South Shore, an affiliate of Episcopal Health Services Inc., is a voluntary, community-owned hospital that provides comprehensive medical care to Far Rockaway and Five Towns communities.
The hospital serves medical care, human services and educational needs of surrounding communities. The key services provided include ambulatory surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, heart care, orthopedic, radiology, laboratory and emergency services. In addition to these, it offers multi-denominational pastoral care and clinical pastoral training, and community outreach and health education services.
St John's Episcopal is served as a referral facility for the newest affiliates of Episcopal Health Service. The Bishop Charles Waldo MacLean Episcopal Nursing Home is a 163-bed nursing facility within the hospital campus.
As a teaching hospital, St John's Episcopal undertakes graduate medical education programs. St John's Episcopal Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the American Osteopathic Association.
