Coler-Goldwater Specialty Hospital and Nursing Facility, opened in 1939, is a leading acute care center in New York City. It is the first public hospital in America devoted to the treatment of chronic diseases and the largest long term care facility operated by the Health and Hospitals Corporation.

Coler-Goldwater maintains one of the highest numbers of ventilator beds in the United States for patients with general respiratory illnesses such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), chronic bronchitis, end-stage emphysema and other diagnoses that require ventilator assistance. Medical, sub acute, rehabilitation and long term care are the service provided. Its inpatient rehabilitation program is accredited and certified by the Commission for the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Cardiac rehabilitation, AIDS care, adolescent care, chronic pulmonary care and wound care are the sub-specialties at the hospital.
