Blythedale Childrens Hospital

Blythedale Childrens Hospital, the only independent, free-standing children’s hospital in New York, has been serving the medical needs of youngsters from birth through age 19 for over a century.

As one of the largest children's services in the State, the hospital offers a wide range of specialties in inpatient and outpatient care. Its pediatric medical services include neurology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, orthopedics, cardiology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, gastroenterology, endocrinology, sports medicine and rheumatology. Other services provided by the hospital’s multi-disciplinary teams include nursing, occupational, speech and recreation therapies, respiratory therapy and social services.

The hospital operates a day hospital program for 150 children and a large diagnostic and treatment outpatient service. Spina bifida center, spasticity program, genetics center, sports medicine center for young athletes and a brace and orthotic center are the support facilities owned by the hospital.

Blythedale is the only hospital in New York State with its own separate public school on site. Numerous pre-school and full school-age educational programs are sponsored. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is licensed by the State of New York.

Blythedale Childrens Hospital accepts Medicare patients.
