Hutchings Psychiatric Center

Hutchings Psychiatric Center has been serving Onondaga, Cayuga, Cortland, Madison and Oswego counties since 1972. It is a community-based, mental health facility providing an integrated network of inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescent and adult patients.

Hutchings is one of the two major psychiatric teaching hospitals associated with the Department of Psychiatry of Upstate Medical University. In addition to the clinical, residential, social rehabilitation and vocational rehabilitation services, the center sponsors a nationally recognized, APA (American Psychological Association) accredited pre-doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology.

Hutchings Psychiatric Center also hosts annual training and internship programs organized by the Medical University's College of Nursing, Crouse Irving Hospital College of Nursing, St. Joseph Hospital Nursing College and the Syracuse University's Department of Social Work.

Hutchings Psychiatric Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
