Founded in 1939, University Hospitals Health System Heather Hill (UHHS Heather Hill) is a multi-level system of services providing around-the-clock medical care and specialized programs. Within the campus are five cost-effective treatment environments: The Specialty Hospital, Short-Term Rehabilitation, Extended Care, Corinne Dolan Center for Memory and Aging, and The Liberty - Assisted Living. UHHS Heather Hill is recognized throughout the world for its state-of-the-art Alzheimer services. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
The Specialty Hospital is dedicated to the care of medically complex patients who require extended hospitalization and would benefit from an intense rehabilitation program. Services offered are occupational therapy, pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, speech pathology, nutritional support, and diagnostic studies. The hospital’s rehabilitation programs serve adults and adolescents recovering from head injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, amputation, orthopedic surgery, neuromuscular disease and other major illnesses.
