Medical University Hospital

Medical University Hospital is one of the three separate hospitals that comprise the MUSC Medical Center of today. It was built in 1955 as a solution to the growing need for an expanded clinical teaching opportunity, as well as to serve as a major referral center in South Carolina for diagnosing and treating diseases. The Medical University Hospital and the MUSC Medical Center as a whole features state-of-the-art medical facilities like Heart Center, Transplantation Center, Hollings Cancer Center, and Digestive Diseases Center.

Medical University Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.

Medical University Hospital provides both Research and Teaching facilities.
