Providence Hospital

Providence Hospital is a non-profit medical facility owned by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Augustine (CSA) Health System, situated in downtown Columbia, in South Carolina. Founded in 1938, the facility is best known for its heart institute which has been recognized as a referral center for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease in the state. Providence Hospital offers treatment in the areas including general surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, ophthalmology, emergency medicine, nuclear medicine and related diagnostic services, rehabilitation services, and occupational medicine. The hospital boasts the state's first hospital-based emergency helicopter program - The Providence Life Reach helicopter service.

Providence Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
