Patrick B Harris Psychiatric Hospital is a regional acute care inpatient facility of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health (SCDMH), which serves 13 counties of the upstate of South Carolina. The hospital provides intensive, short-term, psychiatric diagnostic and treatment services on a 24 hour, emergency voluntary and involuntary basis. The medical facility has been accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and by the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC).
