Baptist Memorial Hospital



Baptist Memorial Hospital, located at Memphis, is the flagship hospital of the Baptist Memorial Health Care system. It has been serving the community since 1979. The premises holds a licensed 30-bed skilled nursing facility and a 30-bed Restorative Care Hospital. The emergency department is open 24 hours a day and features 31 treatment suites and six fast track treatment rooms. There is a separate five-room pediatric emergency department, which caters to more than 800 children a month. The hospital also features a 19-bed inpatient Hardin Pediatric Center.

The Baptist Heart Institute, located in the premises, provides advanced cardiovascular research and treatment for heart patients. This building houses the Ford-Goltman Clinical Research Center, which is dedicated to providing care for clinical research patients. The hospital boasts excellent outpatient facilities. The Plaza Diagnostic Pavilion caters to more than 10,000 outpatients each month. The pediatric arm of this center handles 800 pediatric cases.

Baptist Memorial Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). It is one of Tennessee’s highest volume hospitals. It has been rated as the most preferred hospital for overall health care services in a National Research Corp. poll, for nine consecutive years. It has been rated one of the top 50 hospitals in the country for orthopedics, by U.S. News & World Report during the years 2001 and 2002.
