Big Spring State Hospital

Big Spring State Hospital is a full service psychiatric hospital situated at Big Spring in Texas. It was established in 1938 and is managed by the Department of State Health Services. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The hospital serves in the areas of West Texas and the Texas Panhandle. This 170 bed hospital provides hospitalization for people, 18 years of age and older with psychiatric illnesses. The aim of the hospital is to reduce the disabling effect of mental illness by providing quality psychiatric treatment in a caring, rehabilitative atmosphere
