R J Reynolds Patrick County Memorial Hospital is a critical access hospital, serving the people of Patrick and surrounding counties. Started in 1962, the hospital aims at providing a full spectrum of inpatient acute care and outpatient services for medical, hospice and surgical patients. A 10 bed skilled nursing facility is the main specialty of the hospital.

Respiratory therapy, hospice, social services and occupational health are available as part of its service area.

Patrick County Memorial Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, and is a member of the American Hospital Association and the Roanoke Regional Policy Council. It is licensed by the State Department of Health.
