Southside Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is a short term acute care facility in Petersburg. Started in 1884 as Petersburg Home, it offers a wide range of health related services for the people of Petersburg, Hopewell, Colonial Heights, Fort Lee and Chester and the counties of Prince George, Dinwiddie, Sussex, Surry and southern Chesterfield.<p> The hospital specializes in cardiac/thoracic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic surgery, cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, general practice, gynecology, oncology, infectious disease, internal medicine, neonatology, nephrology, obstetrics and urology.

Southside Regional Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
