Ohio Valley Medical Center has been providing high-quality, cost effective medical care to the people of Wheeling for over a century, regardless of their ability to pay the bills. Opened its doors in 1890 as City Hospital, the medical center, by now, has grown by leaps and bounds to offer the latest of technological inventions and treatment techniques in an effort to tackle health related issues in the community.

Ohio Valley Medical Center provides an array of primary and tertiary care services. Its services ranges from 24-hour EMSTAR emergency and trauma care and rehabilitation to diagnostic radiology & neurology services, Hillcrest inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care and cardiac care. Advanced treatment featured includes hyperbaric oxygen therapy, high-energy linear accelerator for cancer treatment and lithotripsy for the treatment of kidney stones.

Ohio Valley Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).

Ohio Valley Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
