St. Joseph Hospital

St. Joseph Hospital, a part of St. Joseph Health System, was started in 1920 replacing the old Northern California Hospital. It started its function at the present location, Eureka, in 1954. This is a full-service acute care facility dedicated to improve the health and quality of life of the people in its community.

The hospital specializes in cancer treatment, heart care, emergency care, childbirth and women's and pediatric services. The Heart Institute in the hospital offers complete cardiac care including open heart surgery, cardiopulmonary services and cardiac rehabilitation.

St. Joseph Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

St. Joseph Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
