Kern Medical Center

Kern Medical Center, started in 1867, is situated at Bakersfield in California. This 222 bedded acute care teaching hospital strives to offer quality health care service to the community which it serves. This is the only hospital which serves as an academic teaching hospital, dedicated to physician resident training.

The medical center offers a wide variety of services and specializes in everything from general surgery to Obstetrics and Gynecology to Physical therapy.

They are affiliated with UCLA, UCSD and UCI Schools of Medicine. Kern Medical Center is accredited by the Joint commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

Kern Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
