Alaska Regional Hospital has been catering to the health care services of Alaska since 1963. It is the only non-military hospital in the state with its own landing strip. The special feature here is the LifeFlight Air Ambulance service, which transports critical care patients directly to the 24-hour Emergency Room via airplane.
