Hartford Hospital

Hartford Hospital is a major tertiary care and community health care center catering to medical needs of the people of Hartford and neighboring areas in Connecticut. It has been offering quality healthcare to the local populace since 1854. In 1994, the Institute of Living - a psychiatric hospital founded in 1822 - became the Mental Health Division of Hartford Hospital.

Its specialties include dentistry, neurology, neurosurgery, dermatology, stroke center, wellness clinic, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, hemodialysis, endocrinology, pulmonology, robotic surgery, cardiopulmonary and psychiatric programs.

Hartford Hospital is also a teaching center, training prospective medical graduates in a variety of specialties. In this regard, the hospital is a primary affiliate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and Dentistry, for both graduate and undergraduate medical education.
