Washington Hospital Center
Opened its doors in 1958, Washington Hospital Center is the largest private hospital in the nationís capital. Licensed for 907 beds, the Center occupies a 47-acre campus in Northwest Washington and employs one of the regionís most experienced surgical staff. It is a member of MedStar Health, the not-for-profit Hospital Center.
The center of excellence is the cardiovascular programs. The Hospital Centerís cardiac catheterization laboratory is one of the busiest in the country. In addition, the Hospital is respected as a top facility in other areas including cancer, neurosciences, gastrointestinal disorders, endocrinology, womenís services, transplantation and burn.
Clinical services, surgical services and specialized services such as bio/defense response, birth certificates, community health, obesity institute and parent education services are also offered in WHC. It also conducts International and Corporate Health programs such as MedStar Executive Health Assessment Program.
Washington Hospital Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
