South Georgia Medical Center is a full service, acute care, regional referral hospital based at Valdosta, serving a multi county area in South Georgia and North Florida. This self-supporting infirmary is in fact the largest non-governmental employer in Lowndes County, which takes care of the sick and injured with no local tax support.
