Shepherd Spinal Center is a catastrophic care hospital that has been serving the residents of Atlanta since 1975. The medical facility specializes in treating people with spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, multiple sclerosis and other neuromuscular illnesses and urological problems. Shepherd Spinal Center is in fact the largest hospital of its type in United States.

Shepherd Spinal Center is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The U.S. News & World Report has named SSC as one of the country's best rehabilitation hospitals for 2005.
