Central State Hospital
Central State Hospital is the largest medical facility serving people with mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse in Georgia. It has been catering to behavioral health problems of the residents of 23 counties in central Georgia since 1842.
The range of services covers short-stay acute treatment for consumers with mental illness; residential units and habilitation programs for individuals with developmental disabilities; recovery programs for consumers requiring longer stays; and specialized skilled and ICF nursing centers.
The Central State Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
