Decatur General Hospital
Decatur General Hospital was started by the Ladies Benevolent Society, in Southeast [Decatur], Ala. It is a member of Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA) - the largest non-profit hospital network in USA- and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). The hospital offers a wide range of inpatient and out patient services throughout the communities in the surrounding area.
The hospital specializes in cardiovascular surgery, family practice surgery, infectious disease, internal medicine, oncology, pulmonology and gastroenterology.
Stroke center, rehab access clinic, cardiac rehabilitation center, cardiac catheterization lab and endoscopy lab are function within the hospital compound. Priceville Internal Medicine is the only health clinic in the town.
Decatur General Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
