Evergreen Medical Center

Evergreen Medical Center was started on June 1, 1953, under the provisions of the Hill-Burton Act. At its birth time, it was known as Conecuh County Hospital and in 1977, the hospital changed its name as Evergreen Hospital.

It is an acute care facility, offering a wide variety of surgical and medical services including 24 hour physician-staffed emergency department, crisis stabilization unit for the acute mentally ill, cardiology, internal medicine, rehabilitative programs and echocardiograms.

The hospital runs a 14-bed psychiatric unit and a home health agency serving Evergreen as well as the surrounding communities.

Evergreen Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
