HawaiiLeahi HospitalLeahi Hospital was formerly known as 'Honolulu Home for the Incurables' when it was established in 1900 by the Victoria Hospital Association. By 1960’s the hospital came to be well known with the treatment for tuberculosis. Its services include long-term care, adult and children’s psychiatric inpatient services.
Leahi Hospital also boasts an inpatient Hansen's Disease unit, Departments of Tropical Medicine and Medical Microbiology, Pharmacology, and the UH School of Medicine AIDS/HIV research center. Other supporting services include adult day health center, pharmacy, recreational therapy, dietary services, social services, speech therapy, laboratory and occupational therapy. Leahi Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
