CGH Medical Center

Opened its doors to the public in 1913, CGH Medical Center is a progressive acute care facility located in the Rock River Valley region of northern Illinois. The hospital maintains co-ownership in the Northern Illinois Cancer Treatment Center.

CGH inpatient services include a 45 bed medical unit, a 34 bed surgical unit, a 12 suite birthing center, 6 pediatric beds, and 14 CCU/ICU/Biotelemetry beds. The medical staff consists of 114 physicians specializing in 35 areas of medicine. The Medical Center operates a 24-hour trauma ready emergency department along with a new clinical laboratory and a Digestive Disease Center.

Other services include a new state-of-the-art Cath Lab, CAP accredited laboratory, diagnostic imaging, neurology laboratory, GI laboratory and nutritional support, pain management, pharmacy and respiratory therapy. CGH also offers an ambulatory surgical center, physical and occupational therapy, prehospital paramedic level EMS, and centralized scheduling with patient teaching.

Adjacent to the CGH campus lays the Day Care Center. Gift-Shop Cafeteria and Chapel are other facilities provided by the hospital. It also arranges community services programs.

CGH Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
