St. John's Hospital

Founded in 1875 by the Hospital Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis, St. John's Hospital in Springfield is a Christian-based, regional healthcare center serving central and southern Illinois. Licensed for over 700 beds, it has more than 600 physicians representing approximately 30 specialties and sub-specialties on the medical staff. The hospital offers a full range of patient care and services in its state-of-the-art facilities featuring a birth center; a cancer institute; a heart institute; a bone and joint institute; an assisted living facility; and a rehabilitation center. It also serves as a teaching hospital for Southern Illinois University School of Medicine residents and supports medical students in medical career education.

St. John's Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
