MacNeal Hospital is a fully accredited teaching hospital located in Berwyn, Illinois. MacNeal provides health care to communities throughout the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago. The hospital network comprises of ten primary care centers, a resource library, a school for at-risk children and many other resources and programs. MacNeal is a member of the Council of Teaching Hospitals and is accredited by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).
Started since 1918, MacNeal's focuses on expanding the scope of care to provide quality medicine and meet the healthcare needs of the changing community. The treatments at MacNeal include positron emission tomography scan (PET-scan), cardiac catheterization, open-heart surgery, peripheral angioplasty, drug-eluting stents and many other modern medical advancements. MacNeal has a teaching affiliation with the University of Chicago and it also has in its credit of being the founder of first Family Practice residency program in Illinois.
