Saint Francis Hospital
Located in Evanston, Saint Francis Hospital is a 445-bed teaching medical facility noted for excellence in cardiology and for modern specialty programs. Founded in 1901 by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration, it is affiliated with The University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine. This hospital, being recognized as the first Chest Pain Center in the state of Illinois, is part of Sisters of St. Francis Health Services, Inc., which is among the largest Catholic health care providers in the United States.
The hospital, which has more than 300 physicians on its medical staff, representing 34 medical specialties, offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services in cardiology, oncology, nephrology, urology and orthopedics. It also operates a nursing and rehabilitation center; a dedicated Breast Center and numerous neighborhood health centers in Evanston and nearby suburbs.
