Provena Covenant Medical Center
Founded in 1860 by Father Francis Delaplace, Provena Covenant Medical Center is a 270-bed comprehensive medical facility providing compassionate care to the residents of east central Illinois. With a medical staff of 250 physicians representing 37 areas of specialized care, the hospital is dedicated to delivering healthcare services across the continuum of care. It is accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and is licensed by the Department of Public Health for acute care and Home Health Care and by the Department of Mental Health. PCMC is a part of the Provena Health System.
Provena provide a full array of cardiovascular health services, including prevention and wellness education, diagnostic testing, intervention and surgical procedures and cardiac rehabilitation. The hospital also has the area's largest rehabilitation center, featuring facilities for physical, occupational and speech therapy.
Family Maternity Center with home-like birthing suites, a Level III Center for Perinatal Care and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a cancer facility with 3-D treatment planning and a new linear accelerator for the precise radiation application are some of the facilities of the hospital. Provena Covenant also features the area's only dialysis unit and an emergency department.
