Elmhurst Memorial Hospital
Founded by Dr. Edward Marquardt in 1926, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital is the first hospital in DuPage County. EMH has 427 licensed beds with over 2,700 employees and 649 physicians committed to excellence in medical and surgical care, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics, maternity and emergency care. This not-for-profit hospital is accredited by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO).
The hospital is equipped with a family birthing center, offering the largest single-room labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum suites in the Chicagoland area. Other services include clinical laboratory services, dental, dietary, housekeeping, occupational therapy, diagnostic x-ray services, speech/language pathology and therapeutic recreation specialist services. Volunteer services and programs are available for men, women and teens in over fifty service areas in the hospital. A gift shop is an added facility of EMH.
