SwedishAmerican Hospital, situated in Rockford, Illinois, is a subsidiary of SwedishAmerican Health System, an integrated medical care system with 15 facilities in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. Began in 1918 as a 55-bed facility, the hospital has earned a reputation for its commitment to quality health care, including clinical excellence and outcome measurements in a compassionate environment.

The hospital has now grown into a 357-bed, full-service, non-profit, teaching hospital with an affiliation to the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine. It provides services of physicians, representing over 40 different specialties, and offer all of the major surgical specialties and sub-specialties.

SwedishAmerican Hospital accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.

SwedishAmerican Hospital provides both Research and Teaching facilities.
