Advocate South Suburban Hospital
Advocate South Suburban Hospital is a full service community hospital, licensed for 325 beds. It was opened first in 1946 as Hazel Crest General Hospital with 16 licensed beds and three doctors. The hospital was renamed South Suburban Hospital in 1966 and opened a new facility at its current site in 1971.
Advocate South Suburban Hospital is part of Advocate Health Care, the largest fully integrated not-for-profit health care delivery system in metropolitan Chicago. The hospital provides a broad array of general and specialized medical services including 24-hour emergency services. The complete in- and out-patient services include diagnostic, rehabilitation and surgical; family-birthing; sick-child day care center and skilled nursing units. It also operates family health centers in Glenwood, Tinley Park, Frankfort, Hazel Crest and Richton Park.
