Kindred Chicago Central Hospital in Chicago is part of Kindred Healthcare, one of the largest long-term health care providers in the US. The facility includes a 114-bed hospital, a seven-bed intensive care unit (ICU) and also has a remote hospital at Lakeshore.
The general medical and surgical unit at the hospital treats patients with infectious diseases, congestive heart failure, uncontrolled diabetes, cardiovascular disease, post-heart attack or stroke, kidney / renal failure, multi-system failure or complications, respiratory failure, neurological disorders such as ALS or Guillain-Barré and spinal cord injuries. It provides the services of multidisciplinary wound care team and plastic surgeons for treating decubitus ulcer, degenerative disease, burns and catastrophic stage III or IV wounds.
