Childrens Memorial Hospital started its operation in 1882 focusing exclusively on children's health and well-being by providing the most advanced technology, treatment and medical expertise available. It is affiliated with Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and is accredited by Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO). It is also consistently ranked as Illinois' top pediatric hospital and one of the nation's best by US News and World Report.
The hospital with 1,100 pediatric specialists focusing on 70 specialties in multiple locations is licensed for 270 beds. CMH is home to Children's Memorial Research Center, one of the nation's premier centers for pediatric research. Community outreach programs such as health fairs and health screenings are conducted.
