Richmond State Hospital, early known as Eastern Indiana Hospital for the Insane, is a leader in Indiana for the provision of treatment services. It has been offering quality and individualized mental health services with care and dignity for more than 100 years.
Mental illness/developmental disabilities, life skills, transitional, substance abuse, activity therapy and rehabilitation are the main mental health and chemical dependency services available there. Art therapy, music therapy, education classes, leisure programs include classes in art, crafts, current events, horticulture, music, and sports are included in activity and rehabilitation schedule.
