Prairie View is a regional behavioral and mental health system with seven locations in Kansas. The main campus is located on a 70-acre campus on the eastern edge of Newton. At its Newton campus at 1901 East First Street, a number of mental health services are provided, which includes psychiatric hospitalization, outpatient services, a community support program, an adventure course, an accredited day school, research and organization consultation services. Prairie View's other outpatient locations, at Hutchinson, McPherson, Marion, Wichita and Newton, provide services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults for a complete range of behavioral and mental health issues including, depression, anxiety, stress, anger, eating disorders, dementia, sexually related issues, grief, cognitive disorders, alcohol and substance abuse issues, family and marriage issues and more.
The system is accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and licensed by the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
