Maine Medical Center

Maine Medical Center, a leading healthcare facility in Cumberland, has been in service since 1874. It serves as a community health center for the people of greater Portland and is the premier tertiary care center for northern New England.

Apart from its inpatient services, MMC has a large and growing outpatient facility, which provides same day surgery, cardiac catheterization, laboratory services, rehabilitation and three dozen outpatient clinics. Preventive and consultation services, including the MMC diabetes center, the AIDS consultation service, and the center for lipids and cardiovascular health, are available there.

Outreach services including on-going programs, support groups and childbirth education are led by healthcare professionals and most are provided free of charge.

Maine Medical Center accepts both Medicare and Medicaid patients.
