Harper University Hospital
Harper University Hospital is one of the oldest and well-known teaching hospitals in Michigan. Started in 1863 as a military hospital for Union soldiers, it is one of the nation’s premier health care centers providing quality care to patients.
The hospital offers specialized medical services in a broad range of clinical areas, including neurosciences, hypertension and heart failure, vascular and organ transplant, and surgeries. Harper University holds the reputation as the first hospital in Michigan to receive the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization’s (JCAHO) disease-specific care certification for bariatric surgery.
